The 3rd ANNUAL Tournament Of Shadows IBPA National Championships
Bench Press / Dead Lift / Squat 
This Meet will be Our IBPA National Championship Meet
This meet is open to anyone who wants to lift in the IBPA National Championships...If you want a fun event to lift in ...please come...we will decorate for the Halloween Season...Plenty of treats for everyone.



WEIGH IN STARTS AT 7:30 A.M.
RULES MEETING AT 8:30 A.M. Meet starts right after the meeting
All athletes should be prepared for drug testing if you signed up for the natural classes. Open Classes NO DRUG TESTING. A shout out of random athletes at the meeting will tell which athletes will be tested. All athletes that are tested will go to the back for a  hair sample testing.


THE EXCITEMENT STARTS AT 9:15 A. M. WITH THE FIRST LIFT
The Event will be held in Dungeon's Gym East .

Weight Classes:
Male: 123 lbs and under, 132 lbs, 148 lbs, 165 lbs, 181 lbs, 198 lbs, 220 lbs, 242 lbs, 275 lbs, HWT. (10 divisions for the gentlemen )
Females: 105 lbs to 114 lbs, 123 lbs to 132 lbs, 148 lbs to 165 lbs, 198+
( 6 divisions for the ladies )
Divisions:
Pre Teen, Teen I (12-15), Teen II (16-19), Novice I (20-24), Novice II (25-29), Submasters (30-39), Master I (40-49), Master II (50- 59), Master III (60+), Open Class No Drug Testing. You can only enter one division.
Awards: 1st through 5th place will receive trophies in each division.
Entry Fee: $35.00 per lift or $100 for all three lifts

Please send in your registration early to guarantee a t-shirt and trophy. ( By Oct. 11 2012. ) I will try my best to make sure everyone comes home with an award. Please enter by October 11th if possible. We will take walk ins on the day. But you might have to pay extra for your trophy to be mailed to you.  We will mail your trophy to you if you register on the day. Late fee $20 will be added on the day to cover trophy cost. Please mail the entries in early.
Each participant will receive a t-shirt with registration if we receive it by Oct 11 2012

Rules: ( Bench Press)

1 Competitors must pre-register for the competition before lifting.

2. Wear snug fitting clothes.

3. Both feet must stay flat on the ground.

4. The head is to remain in contact with the bench and the buttock must stay on the bench.

5. Lift offs are allowed-arms must be straight at the start and at the end of the lift.

6.During the lift, the weight will be lowered to the chest and paused until a press signal is given, then you may press the bar off the chest and lock the arms straight

7. You may rack the bar only when the rack signal has been given. If at any time during the lift, the bar dips harshly to one side or the other, an illegal lift call will be given.

8. When giving your next bench weight to the scoring table, remember that you can only request a heavier lift, not a lighter one.

9. Bring your cameras to capture your special moments.

10. Have fun and cheer everyone on.

11. Bring a friend or two to watch.



Dead Lift Rules1. The bar must be laid horizontally in front of the lifter's feet, gripped with an optional grip in both hands, and lifted without any downward movement until the lifter is standing erect.
2. The lifter shall face the front of the platform.
3. On completion of the lift, the knees shall be locked in a straight position and the shoulders square or back.
4. The Chief Referee's signal shall consist of a downward movement of the hand and the audible command "down." The signal will not be given until the bar is held motionless and the lifter is in the apparent finished position.
5. Any raising of the bar or any deliberate attempt to do so will count as an attempt.

Causes for Disqualification of a Dead Lift1. Any downward movement of the bar before it reaches the final position.
2. Failure to stand erect with the shoulders square or back.
3. Failure to, lock the knees straight at the completion of the lift.
4. Supporting the bar on the thighs during the performance of the lift.
5. Stepping backward or forward although lateral movement of the sole or rocking feet between ball and heel is permitted.
6. Lowering the bar before receiving the Chief Referee's signal.
7. Allowing the bar to return to the platform without maintaining control with both hands.

Squat:
The lift starts with the lifter standing erect and the bar loaded with weights resting on the lifter’s shoulders. At the referee’s command the lift begins. The lifter bends his knees and lowers himself into a squatting position with the hips slightly below parallel position. The lifter returns to an erect position. At the referees command the bar is returned to the rack and the lift is completed.
